33 years already? After Cal Hi I went to Cal Poly, SLO, for a BS in Dietetics, spending 5 years on the central coast. Returned to So Cal, married, 2 kids (now 23 & 20), returned to school for my RN, and have lived in Chino Hills for almost 20 years. I have great memories of Cal Hi and great friendships, many starting at Ocean View Elementary. I'd be interested if anyone else ended up in the medical field as well. Hello class of 1974. After Cal Hi I went to Whittier College, got a BA in accounting and, 1978 being what it was, I ended up as a computer programmer. Married a girl from Illinois and have been living there under protest ever since. (Met her in the Grand Tetons. Thought I was getting a mountain girl. I am a victim of bait-and-switch.) Got a masters in information systems which allowed me to teach school. Taught programming at community college level for six years, during which time I completed a masters in applied math and switched over to the math department. Loved it, but left after three more years due to Y2K. Went into corporate training, mostly IT boot camps. Cash cow. Sadly, the cow has dried up. I miss the cow. But that is still my work: teaching computer programming in the business world. Currently going through a midlife crisis, so I decided to go back to school. Working on a third masters, this time an MSEd in instructional technology. People ask, "why not a doctorate" to which I reply, "why take the fun out of going to school." I have four children, one granddaughter. No longer running -- messed up my knee with tae kwon do (but not before I got my black belt at age 48.) About my Dad (written by his middle and most intelligent daughter, Katie)

Birney has been married to my mother for 26 years.  They enjoy geriatric water aerobics and clipping coupons.  (he's gonna kill me for writing this!!)

His oldest daughter, Lisa (24), just had his first grandson in January, Jayden Martin.  She has been married for 3 years and works as a Special Education Teacher.

His middle daughter, ME!, (21) just had his first granddaughter in March, Sydney Capri.  I have been married for 2 years and am a ceritfied Lifesaver (911 dispatcher for the Sacramento Police Dept).

His youngest daughter, Ellen (16) raises his blood pressure daily.  She is a lifegaurd and regularly complains about Dad's NRA membership plaque hanging in the entryway for her dates to see.

My dad has been living here in Elk Grove for 19 years, he really enjoys fishing, naps in the La-Z-Boy chair in between Nascar races, explaining "how life really is" to his son-in-laws, and holding his grandkids.  His new nickname is "Grumpa" because he is pretty much always grumpy! :) BUT we love him! 
 
Oh and so far... 2 of his 3 daughters have followed in his footsteps bravely earning "Class Clown" in highschool also.  What a coincidence... my sister may have just finished her master's degree, but man, what a proud moment it was when we presented our yearbooks to him with our own ridiculous class clown pictures!
Oh and a kudos to my wonderful mommy who has amazingly stayed sane and raised all 4 of us (especially him)! 

Carolyn and I have been married for 25 years.  We have two sons Zach 32, and Matt 20.
